Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Steve Feldman
Dr. Feldman is a Denver native who had always dreamed of being a cowboy and working cattle and horses. After high school, he spent 3 years milking cows in Israel before returning to Colorado. Dr. Feldman received his Masters’s in Animal Nutrition from CSU in 1983 and then graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. After vet school, Dr. Feldman spent a year in Beersheva, Israel where he treated local dogs and cats as well as Bedouin sheep and camels as an associate at the Desert Research Institute of Ben Gurion University. He worked in Denver for 8 years in General Practice hospitals prior to opening his own practice in June 1995.
Ever since the age of four, Dr. Rachel Fishman knew she wanted to work with animals. Always bringing a compassionate, empathetic, and educational focus to both her patients and clients, she prides herself on seeing anything that walks in the door. Before working at VetCare Animal Hospital, Dr. Fishman practiced for five years in the Denver area where she not only worked with dogs and cats but specialized in working with exotic animals as well. Dr. Fishman is a 3rd generation native Coloradan and moved back to Denver after finishing her Veterinary School degree at Mississippi State University. She also holds a master’s degree in Fine Arts in Medical Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and undergraduate degrees in both Animal Science and Art from the University of Maryland. She has 3 daughters (ages 7, 3, and 1), the best bichon-poodle mix named Wally, and a Russian Tortoise named Turdy. Outside of working with her furry friends, Rachel enjoys running, hiking, skiing, and hanging out with her family, including her doting husband, Daniel.
Dr. Gabriella Sottile
Dr. Gabriella Sottile was born and raised in central Maryland. She attended the University of Delaware where she received her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Vet Med and Animal Biosciences with a minor in Wildlife Conservation. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri –Columbia. She has spent her first year in emergency medicine and decided to switch to general practice to pursue her love of exotic animal medicine. During her time at the University of Missouri, Dr. Sottile was privileged to be one of the leaders of their Raptor Rehabilitation program and has helped develop emergency medicine protocols for them. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and drawing. She also has a passion for language learning and aerial performance. She has even competed several times in the latter over the past couple of years.
Licensed Vet Tech
Hi, I’m Autumn! I’m a Virginia native who just recently moved to Denver. I received my B.S. in Biology in 2019 and shortly after, received my license in veterinary technology in 2021. I am currently certified in Colorado as well as Virginia. I’ve worked in the veterinary/animal field since 2016. During that time, I found that I absolutely love working with exotics. I received most of my experience working with them at my last clinic in Virginia. In my free time, I love spending time with my dog, Jack, and going on adventures with him!
Hi, my name is James. I’m a recent graduate from PIMA with a degree in veterinary technology and will soon sit for my licensing exam in the state of Colorado. I own many exotics ranging from a snake to Guinea pigs. While I love dogs and cats, I enjoy working with exotics the most. I hope to get even more experience caring for them while working at VetCare Animal Hospital.
My name is Sandra. I was born and raised in Colorado. I recently graduated from PIMA Medical Institute as a Veterinary Assistant and will hopefully continue in my career to become a Veterinary Technician!
I have a huge passion for helping animals. My hobbies are reading, playing video games, and baking. I have an adorable Terrier mix named Coco who’s always finding a way to stir up trouble!

Certified Vet Tech
Hi my name is Jo and I love what I do! Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to work with animals. As many of you have heard me say, “I like my animals more than most people”. I graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture in 1977 with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology and from there started my first job working with small animals and exotics. I have been working with Dr. Feldman at Vetcare for over 20 years; how time flies! I enjoy just about anything that is outdoors—walking, horseback riding, hiking, gardening, and especially camping with my husband Tom, my boys Peter and Philip, and my 7 grandchildren. I also love to sing and have participated in many worship teams at church, cantatas and have sung my fair share of solos. I am excited about what lies ahead at Vetcare and look forward to continuing to serve you and your pets!

My name is Tasia Thompson , I joined the team in January of 2023. I am a certified veterinary assistant who graduated from the Community College of Denver in December of 2021. I am currently working as Vetcare’s receptionist with a hope to pursue a career as a veterinary technician at some point. I spend my free time with my husband Edgar, my son Rafael and my soon-to-be-born daughter. Animals are my absolute passion in life. I adore my two girls Persephone, my Cane Corso, and Devalin, my English Mastiff, when they aren’t getting into mischief! I look forward to meeting all our clients with the biggest smile and can’t wait to meet your furry family members!
Louie joined the team at VetCare in 2015 after being picked on by other cats in his household. Louie “works” Monday – Friday and spends the weekends with a good friend of Dr. Feldman’s. While at work Louie can be found lounging in his cat tower, greeting our clients at the front desk, saying hello to the canine friends, and being sassy to the feline friends visiting our hospital. Every morning he does his best to convince us he’s starving and needs treats for breakfast, copious amounts of treats.
